This Thursday, group member Cassidy Jackson passed her qualifying exam – the first of the Zadrozny Group. Congratulations!

This Thursday, group member Cassidy Jackson passed her qualifying exam – the first of the Zadrozny Group. Congratulations!
This Saturday, undergraduate member Spencer Johnson received an Outstanding Presentation Award from the 2019 Rocky Mountain Undergraduate Research Conference at Colorado Christian University. Congratulations, Spencer!
The Zadrozny Group welcomes two new graduate students to the lab, Ian and Anthony. They are a superb addition to the group, and we are excited to conduct research with them on new projects.
Congratulations, Chun-Yi, for lead authoring the group’s first publication appearing in Chemical Science. The manuscript provides new molecular design principles for metal complexes in potential low-frequency EPR applications. The work was done in collaborations with lab of Prof. Sandra and Gareth Eaton at the University of Denver.
We are excited to be selected for a R21 Trailblazer award by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. The funding will enable us to explore the possibility of using metal complexes for next generation molecular probes in the field of electron paramagnetic resonance imaging. We are grateful for this support and look forward to the exciting discoveries that will stem from this work!
Our work to explore the low-frequency EPR properties of metal ions was recently selected for funding by the NSF. The financial support of the award will enable the exploration of a strategy to harness the extreme sensitivity of molecule-based electronic spin quantum bits toward new applications in biosensing. The work will be done in collaboration with the EPR center at the University of Denver, and coworkers on this project will get to travel there (and other national EPR facilities) to perform experiments. We are very grateful for this support. Thank you!
Today we congratulate Cassidy for being awarded the C. Michael Elliot Memorial Scholarship Award from the College of Natural Sciences and the Chemistry Department at CSU.

The Zadrozny Group welcomes two REU students, Bailey and Spencer, to the lab over the summer. The join to aid in synthesizing low-frequency EPR and temperature-dependent cobalt MRI imaging agents.
Today, the lab heads off campus to visit Rocky Mountain High School to talk about magnetism in molecules through interactive demos. Cassidy and Tyler are seen demonstrating how dipole moments affect magnetic strength and the formation of magnetite from ion supplements.
The Zadrozny Group welcomes three new graduate students, Cassidy, Tyler, and Manny to the group. We are excited to bring them aboard! Venture to the Group webpage to learn more about them.
